The 3988 is built around comfortable extended living. The forward master stateroom features an island queen berth and an en-suite head with tub and shower. A separate mid-berth guest stateroom and a second day head serve additional guests, sleeping four across two staterooms and two heads. The full-beam salon is flooded with natural light through wraparound cabin windows, with a raised dinette ideal for dining and entertaining. The step-down galley is equipped with a multi-burner electric stove with oven, microwave, U-Line ice maker, and a newly upgraded Nova-Kool RS7600 AC/DC refrigerator. A Webasto Air Top Evo 40 diesel heater plus electric heaters and a Magnum 200-watt inverter keep the boat comfortable at anchor.

From the cockpit, a hardtop and full canvas enclose the flybridge for all-season use. Up top, the flybridge features abundant guest seating, a dual multi-media player, and excellent 360-degree visibility. A Roskelley Olson fork davit handles the included tender, and a cockpit shower, Bennett trim tabs, and Tides Marine dripless shaft seals round out a well-considered refit.

Electronics include a Garmin GPSMAP 1243xsv 12" chartplotter, Raymarine 18" HD closed-array radar, Raymarine ST6001 autopilot, Hummingbird 718 sonar, Standard Horizon Eclipse DSC VHF at the flybridge, and a Uniden EM435 VHF at the lower helm. Additional equipment includes a Westerbeke 8.0 BTD 8kw generator, Magnum 200-watt inverter, Webasto Air Top Evo 40 diesel heater, electric heaters, Nova-Kool AC/DC refrigerator, U-Line ice maker, electric stove with oven, microwave, Atwood 10.5-gallon water heater, Vacuflush heads, Muir HR-1100 windlass with Bruce anchor and chain, Roskelley Olson fork davit, Bennett trim tabs, Tides Marine dripless shaft seals, and cockpit hardtop and full canvas flybridge enclosure.
