Greg Matthes

Sales Manager

Greg started his marine sales career with Sundance in 1984.  Running the Seattle sales office for Sundance Greg branched off in 1992 and established two other Northwest dealership/brokerages as owner/manager until his retirement in 2010.  Greg’s next “career” was cruising the Sea of Cortez with his wife Kris. In the summer of 2016 Kris and Greg met with old friend and Sundance owner Rick Buck to garner advice on a boat for the Columbia River (having kids and grandkids in the area).  Rick not only sold him a boat but talked him out of retirement! 

Greg is excited to be back at the helm in Seattle and looks forward to meeting with old customers and friends as well a whole new group of boaters in the area.

John Baker

Salesperson

A recreational boater since he was 7 years old John knew when he took his first sweep with an oar in a dinghy that he was destined to spend most of his life on or around the water. Starting as a processor in the factory of an Alaskan King crab boat at the age of 18 John sailed in nearly every capacity possible and ended up in the wheelhouse as a Crab Captain at the age of 30. His job took him all over the world to various seaports in Alaska, Russia, Japan, Korea, Canada and Denmark. In his off time from fishing John captained private yachts and spent a fair amount of time training his customers and educating them in regards to boating so that they could enjoy boating to its fullest.

John co founded Waypoint Marine with his fellow fishing captain and friend Buck Fowler to provide a friendly knowledgeable company for Northwest Boaters to feel comfortable to come to for all their boating needs and wants. Family and friends are what John values the most in life. To this day you will find him out on the water with and without his customers fishing for whatever may be in season or just enjoying the beauty of the scenery and the companionship of his family and friends while boating in the Northwest.

Rob Everett

Salesperson

Before joining Sundance, Rob was the CFO for one of the Northwest’s largest ski resorts. That recreational background is the cornerstone of his success at Sundance.

"Just like skiing isn’t all about the gear you ride, yachting only begins with choosing your boat” says Rob. “Lots of things combine to create wonderful boating experiences.” 

“Rendezvouses and cruises are the most interesting part of this profession,” he says. “Newcomers (myself included) appreciate the help – with no judgment – from other boaters. More experienced boaters get satisfaction seeing how their experience can benefit others. It’s beautiful to watch.” 

“I’ve learned so much about boating in the Pacific NW – hopefully it shows in my work.” 

Rob grew up on a farm where summer evenings usually included boating on Priest Lake. He graduated from University of Idaho and began his first career as a CPA. 

Today Rob lives aboard his boat on Lake Union. “My commute to work is 375 yards.”

Ken Stanley

Sales Manager

Born right here in the Northwest, Ken has spent a lot of his life on the water. He grew up fishing and boating with family and friends on the Columbia River and throughout Oregon.

Starting his career in Yacht Sales in 1994, Ken has over 23 years of experience at Sundance Yachts. What he enjoys most about it is using the knowledge he’s gained to help his clients find the best possible fit for their needs. 

Working out of Portland, Ken services clients in Northern California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, and Alberta.

Andrew Hepler

Salesperson

Originally from Texas, Andrew studied music in Los Angeles, CA and went on to work for a small record company and television show before deciding to move to the Pacific Northwest in 2013. In 2015 Andrew began working in the boating industry as a boat rigger in Sundance’s Portland shop where he learned the ins-and-outs of the Jeanneau and Cutwater lines. 

In January 2017, Andrew attended the Seattle boat show as a salesman and subsequently became a full time member of the Portland sales team. Now he uses his knowledge gained as a rigger and installer to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the brands that Sundance carries and to help him better assist his customers before, during and after their buying experience. 

Michael Rongo

Salesperson

Michael hails from the East Coast out of New York, New York.  He enjoyed a 14 year career as an Institutional Sales Trader on Wall Street that started at Bear Sterns in 2003, became a Director at The Benchmark Company for 9 years, and culminated as a Managing Partner with the Livermore Trading Group.  Being new to both the West Coast and boating he brings with him good old fashion East Coast honesty and transparency.  Michael is the newest member of our sales team.

Jason Burks

Sales Manager

Jason was born and raised in Washington and spent every summer growing up in the San Juan's and Canadian Gulf Islands on his family's yacht.  After graduating from Central Washington University with a degree in Business Management he moved to the Caribbean for two years, heading up sales and operations for a computer company in the USVI.  While in the Caribbean he also worked as a underwater videographer and part time Captain on day charter boats into the BVI's.  While boating, fishing and scuba diving the NW waters his whole life a few years after have moved back to Washington he converted his passion for boating into a carrier. 

Now with over 11 years selling boats, building and managing successful sales teams he has focused his attention to the continued growth of Sundance Yacht Sales. "Building successful educated and knowledgeable sales teams is a passion of mine".  Listening to exactly what his clients want and delivering it to them immediately is something he and his team strive for daily.  Jason prides himself on his knowledge of European Yachts and expertise in all aspects of overall boating.  "More importantly, the relationships I build with my clients and the great people I work along side of on a daily basis are the keys to success."

Randy Parten

Salesperson

Relationships are the single most important element of what I do. I genuinely enjoy building lasting relationships with others, helping them find the right boat for them, and helping them build their relationship with said vessel.

I began boating as soon as I could see over a steering wheel (sitting on a big orange life vest). Later serving in the United States Navy, I have passion for the sea & all that comes with it, that continues to this day.

I look forward to helping you create boating memories that will last a lifetime.

Prudence Welch

Prudence Welch is new to the Marine Industry, and loves it! She was in management and sales for 10 years, and prides herself in customer service and integrity!  You could say she can ran a tight ship with her 4 children, but You will enjoy her warm and happy personality as she makes your dreams come true, on the water!
