Being the best, being ahead, has been the objective of Fountaine Pajot since its creation in 1976 . The first boats produced were dinghies, 505, 470 or 420: made in composite sandwich, they were already ahead of their time.
A little later, the IOR prototypes of the yard designed for fellow sailors demonstrated their excellence by winning the most beautiful races of the moment, followed by the first multihulls Fountaine Pajot, the trimaran Royale and the catamaran Charente Maritime: the latter led by Jean- François Fountaine, Pierre Follenfant, Philippe Pallu de la Barrière and Bernard Nivelt caused a sensation by outclassing his competitors in his first transoceanic races. Pierre Fountaine will also be World Champion in Half Tonner, while Claire Fountaine was World Champion in Class 470 and twice second during the World Championships.
Today, the succession is assured with Romain Motteau, Deputy Managing Director of the company - he is Hobie Cat 16 World Champion - and he is a key player in the world of sports multihulls: he regularly equips Franck Cammas or Pierre Pennec aboard Extrem 40 and also won the Archipelago Raid in 18 feet. Winning a regatta, making the company win, his determination is total, like that of his elders.

Innovative and high-tech composite materials constitute the main part of the structure of our motor catamarans: hulls, flybridge, decks, bulkheads, etc. At Fountaine Pajot, we have developed a resin injection and infusion technique, an advanced technology that gives our boats their unique strength.
Thanks to this expertise, we are able to considerably reduce the weight of our catamarans while maintaining a high level of quality. The process also allows us to meet the most stringent environmental requirements, in line with our corporate philosophy.
At Fountaine Pajot, we are aware of what we owe to nature and the maritime environment in particular. It is above all our love for the seas and oceans of the world that unites us in this quest for adventure and enjoyment. The concern to protect this common heritage is therefore an essential part of our business policy. The desire to preserve the natural areas that harbour our boats and to protect life in all its forms and the natural resources that are essential to it, is at the heart of our project.
We have thus defined an ecological and committed approach that structures our daily actions:
– We sort our waste by identifying the recycling and elimination processes.
– We are constantly innovating to improve the fuel efficiency of our boats, particularly through hybrid propulsion and alternative energy sources, and by improving waste management (black and grey wastewater).
– We favour materials and manufacturing processes with low environmental impact when designing our boats.
